about meals matter
Our Mission Statement
The mission of Meals Matter is to bring a permanent end to "No Money, No Food" by providing improved access to school lunches to all students in the Nashua School District.
Our Vision Statement
We envision a community that supports student learning through proper nutrition.
Our Share Cart Program
Share carts encourage students to reduce waste while providing increased access to nutritious foods.
The Food and Nutrition Service regulations outline meal pattern requirements for the reimbursable meals provided in all participating schools. While these items must be provided, there is a realization that children may not always want to consume all the food or beverage items included in their meal. Share carts provide a safe and monitored station where those unwanted items can be left for children who may want additional servings or who may need added nutrition outside the meal period.
Share carts open the door to a number of educational opportunities. By inviting students to participate, we teach about the importance of food safety and recycling. We emphasize the significance of healthy eating and trying new foods. In short, we teach students to live healthy, caring lives. This program was made possible with the generous support of our sponsors, The Nashua Rotary, The Nashua Teachers Union, Southern New Hampshire Health and the United Way of Greater Nashua, along with the Congregational Church of Hollis UCC.

2nd annual gala - great success
Thank you to all those who attended our 2nd Annual Meals Matter Gala at LaBelle Winery. The event raised almost $4,000 to help hungry students. We hope you'll join us for next year's event!
